The game picks one. They are alternatives, in the order it prefers them.
Only when all of these hold:
Only when the conversation's own flag talkingToPlayer is set
Only when standing with Garkai is at least Neutral
What is it? I'd appreciate if you were quick about it.
Word appears to be spreading of a helpful vemani. You must be [player].
You gave your time to help ours, so I shall give some of mine for you. What is it you wish to ask?
The conversation ends
Only after the player has spoken to the speaker
Hm? A vemani wishes to speak with me? I'm far too busy to indulge your misguided curiosity.
The conversation ends
Only after the player has spoken to the speaker
Sorry, I simply don't have time to exchange tales with all the vemani that pass through.

What do you do as elder of the {Tsuki} clan?
I manage the business on our lands. Allocate land to shopkeepers, determine the cut they have to pay to the clan. Beyond that, it gets rather political, and I'm not willing to explain our inner workings to outsiders.

You seem to value your time quite highly.
And you do not? Time is precious. A life has only so much of it. Every moment spent carelessly is like a coin thrown into the bog. Tell me, [Viasha}, do you throw your possessions away like they didn't matter? If you don't, why do it with your time?
Besides, it's Azasumi's job to talk to the vemani. I have other things to do. More important things.

What is there to see and do in Garkai?
For one who lives here? Everything. Our families, our homes, our land. For a vemani? Nothing. We don't have the pleasure dens your eastern cities boast with, nor grand monuments or lavish gardens. Garkai is a place for us to live, not for others to visit.
