{[player]}! Your idea! It worked!
The conversation forks on the graph-variable check:
If True
I thought you were just fooling with me, but these {ganura} stalks have been popping up like weeds the past few days after I applied your method. Thank you - your advice has saved my struggling farm!
Please, as a reward, take these, and pick from my paddy freely.

Hey, traveler. Help yourself to some ganura! Was there something you needed?

Be quick about it, vemani. My wife and I have much work to do.

Where's all the {ganura}?
The last couple of harvests were meager. I'm starting to think there may be some truth to the things {Dento} is filling {Sori's} head with at the temple. After all, the land is always at the spirits' whim.
Perhaps the ancestors have withdrawn their favor. Our lack of devotion now means a lack of harvest. I can't explain it any other way. It's as if the land is cursed.
You might try incorporating some fertilizer from the {yanaki} farm. That should make the plants grow.
That sounds revolting. I wouldn't want to put my hand in such refuse, let alone my ganura. I work the fields so I can stay away from rotting things. If my nose can't abide it, why would my plants?
{Kogeru}! The harvest has been meager for so long. Put your foolish pride away and accept this man's / woman's advice!
Well, then. A good farmer is always open to new methods. Tell me again, stranger, how to enrich my soil...

Ask the fishermen for leftovers. Rotting fish guts make for good fertilizer.
While the moon is low, so must be the waters.
What? That doesn't even make sense. {Ganura} loves flooded soil, {vemani}. You sound like those superstitious slackers up at the temple.
I could take a look at your irrigation and give a few pointers.
I don't know what you could possibly do that I haven't thought of already, outsider.
{Ganura} should be an easy plant to grow in these conditions. Have you tried enriching the soil?
Requires a Low check of Intelligence
What? Like with fish guts or animal manure? I chose to work with crops so I wouldn't have to deal with things like that.
I honestly know nothing about growing {ganura} ...

Nevermind, actually.
I'm guessing it's not {ganura} season.
It doesn't look like you're a very <i>good</i> {ganura} farmer.
*He gives you a disdainful look.* What would you know about growing {ganura}, {vemani}? The only thing that grows in your cities is your arrogance, and I can see you harvested that crop aplenty.
Working the fields is hard labor - nothing a soft easterner would understand.

Only when the conversation's own flag moonsap_Mushrooms is set
What goes into raising a {moonsap mushroom}?
The conversation forks on what the game checks, in this order:

It's a delicate process. Lots of work, and difficult. The mushroom requires pruning, like a tree, and the slightest mistake can spoil the sap and do lasting harm to the stalk. The extraction process is incredibly intricate.
That's why these accursed {Sappers} are such a problem. They don't know what they're doing. Every moonsap mushroom they touch turns into a withering husk. They don't know how to tend to them.
They ruin mushroom after mushroom. A patch of them might last them a year or two, and once they've all been drained dry, they go and seek out the next, like true parasites.

That's a secret better left untold to the likes of you. Or do you think we tell this to every arrogant easterner who barges in here and demands answers?

I see {Azasumi} has accepted help from an outside party.
I'm sorry to admit, but I don't know much more than they're stealing {moonsap}. I know they wield {moonsap sickles} as weapons, so you might want to take them on from a distance.

You're curious, are you? No wonder. One of your reputation probably sees appeal in their wicked ways. But you should think twice before joining their ranks; we kill their kind on sight.
They steal {moonsap} and indulge in it all day long, like you easterners in the pleasure dens of your rotten cities. We didn't have so many problems in the old days. Those cursed sappers probably learned the habit from you people. *He spits.*

They're thieves who steal our ceremonial {sap} and ruin the mushrooms in the process. A filthy lot, who make us farmers' jobs harder and enrich themselves off our backs. Probably spend all day intoxicated, like you easterners in your cities' pleasure dens. No offense.
If you want to know more, go and talk to {Azasumi Ekiro}. He's one of {Garkai}'s elders. He's been having issues reining in the sappers lately; perhaps he'd be open to outside help.

You're an honest man / woman, so I give you some good advice: stay as far away from them as you can. They're bad people, and their vile habits cause nothing but trouble.
They steal {moonsap} and indulge in it all day long, like you easterners in the pleasure dens of your rotten cities. Not you, of course - you're an honest man / woman. Just easterners, in general.

Tell me about yourself.
*The {Karu} responds hesitantly.* If you must know, my name is {Kogeru}, husband of {Noka}. I'm a {ganura} farmer. I tend to the crops during sowing and harvesting season and help cultivate the {moonsap mushrooms}.
