The game offers every topic whose requirement is met, in the order it prefers them.

  • Who are you?

I'm Shunisa, the mechanic. I fix things - the windmills, mostly. *Her lips widen into a smile, and you catch a glimmer in her eye.* Aren't they beautiful? So intricate, so elegant! How they move with the wind as if animated by the spirits that live among us!

There's beauty in machinery, don't you think? Every gear working together in perfect harmony to create motion that flows more smoothly than the swiftest river. And it's hard, honest, dirty work that keeps it alive.

*She chuckles.* No other hands work as hard as mine. There isn't a day they don't get stained with oil. Real work gets you dirty - hm. *A light blush appears on her cheeks.* Perhaps Hidari's hands could compete with mine, I might think. And Motoshi, when he doesn't just watch his crops grow.

    • You're absolutely right. Nothing surpasses the perfection of expertly crafted machinery. I love tinkering with it myself.

Another mechanic! How wonderful! *Her eyes gleam with glee.* One day you must tell me about the machinery the sand elves use - I haven't been to Akaga since they built the lighthouse, but I heard it's a marvel of engineering!

I don't get out much, especially since the forest has become so dangerous, but I love when travelers bring foreign devices for me to take apart and reassemble. Sazziad ones are my favorites. They're so intricate!

Anyway, I'm sure you haven't come here to hear me ramble on about machinery all day. Please excuse my enthusiasm. It's just so rare for me to meet another who shares my passion. Was there anything else you wanted to talk about?

    • I disagree. Without the touch of artistry, machinery is dead and dull, rattling gears lacking shape and form. The greatet beauty springs from an artist's hands, not a mechanic's.

Ah, of course. I shouldn't have expected a soft-looking outsider to understand. Art may be pretty, but what does it do? Does a painting stop working when it breaks? No, because it never worked at all! Your hands don't know what real art is unless they made a hundred gears work together without flaw!

But don't let me waste your time with my love for machinery. You don't get it, anyway. Was there anything else you wanted to talk about?

    • Good to know someone is keeping the wheels turning.

Most people get a little, ah - annoyed at my enthusiasm. *She shrugs apologetically.* I can see you don't love machinery as much as I do, but at least you realize the importance of my work. Thank you!

    • Who's Hidari?

Our flamemaker. He creates fireworks and other things that burn and explode. *She chuckles.* Haven't ever seen him without a generous coating of soot. That's honest work - gets him dirty, good and proper.

    • Who's Motoshi?

He tends to the ganura fields and yanaki pens. Watching the crops grow and the cattle graze isn't much work at all, but right now he's helping with the construction of our palisades. That's a real man's work, with hammer in hand, getting things done.

*She rolls her eyes.* But once he's done, I'm sure he'll go back to the fields and laze about all day. Oh, my yanaki need watching! Oh, my strongest bull ran away because I didn't watch him close enough! Well, maybe if he didn't fall asleep all the time, it wouldn't have run away! Ha!

      Returns to an earlier point

  • What can you tell me about Ishgana?

*She shrugs.* Not much. Ours is a small village, and we don't get many visitors. Only the occasional wanderer like you. We like our peace and quiet - leaves us enough time to do the work we were born to do and please the spirits of the land.
