The game picks one. They are alternatives, in the order it prefers them.

Only while the quest holds the authored value

Hey! How's my favorite [player_shortrace] doing today?

Only when the player has found

*A small female {Karu} gazes at you with an eagerness not typically found in those encroached upon.*

Hey stranger! Welcome to {Fort Gama}! My little slice of paradise out in this scenic wetland!

Stay as long as you like! Just be sure not to alert the {Darvaki} to our presence. It'd mean months of work down the drain for me!

So long as you can handle that: welcome.

Hello! I just finished up my daily observations! What did you need?

Only when the player stands GreaterOrEqualTo Neutral with the speaker

Hello again! What did you need!

Only when the player stands LessThan Neutral with the speaker

What is it, {Viasha}?

*A small wet hand clasps your mouth quickly.*

  • Changes a variable of something the compendium does not publish

Shhhh! Get down; they might see you!

  • You mean the {darvaki} up ahead?

Requires a Medium check of Marksman

Precisely! *Her excitement shown clear past her quiet voice.*

    • Ah! A study on the {darvaki}? What are you trying to learn?

We'll discuss it momentarily! * She presses an index finger to her lips.* But now shush. Shh, shh, shh.

      The conversation ends

    • Oh! You're {darvaki} watching? I'll sit a spell and watch too.

Requires a Medium check of Endurance

*The elf smiles and whispers:* Fantastic! So long as you can do it quietly! We can talk in a second.

Continues where this conversation already went

    • You're the one that should be warned! What's an unarmed civilian doing out here?

*The unnamed elf rolls her eyes, but the excitement stays.* Who said I was unarmed, <i>or<i/> a citizen? Now, hush-hush-hush!

Continues where this conversation already went

    • Thanks for the warning. I hate those things!

*Her face turns to an unsurprised disappointment.* Oh, you don't hate them; you just don't quite understand them.

      • Do tell.

*Her eyes light up at the chance to educate.* As much as I'd love to, I think it'd be best if you just watched for a second. There's something unusual about these {darvaki}. Several things, actually. - Watch, watch.

        The conversation ends

      • No, no, no. I'm pretty certain I hate them.
        • Changes how the speaker feels about the player

Well if you won't listen, maybe you can see. Just watch how much more civilized these are than your average {darvaki}. Just <b>look<b>!

Continues where this conversation already went

  • Who might see us?

The {darvaki}! *She says in whispered exclamation.*

Continues where this conversation already went

  • Who? I can't see a thing in this weather!

Only when the player stands GreaterOrEqualTo Neutral with the speaker

Great. Now that I've had a chance to make my daily observations and finish my notes was there anything you wanted?

Only after the player has spoken to the speaker

*A small {Karu} woman quickly clasps your mouth with her hand.*

What the player can raise (4)

The game offers every topic whose requirement is met, in the order it prefers them.

  • Do you live out here? Is this your job? I don't understand.

The graph holds 2 copies of this topic, one per character, each continuing below.

I'm out here because the {Mage's Guild} knows next to nothing about the {darvaki}. So officially, I'm taking data on them and their impact on the surrounding forest and a range of habits and intelligence - feasibility for education, etcetera.

Unofficially, though, I'm living my dream of dwelling amongst the {darvaki }... or as close as I can. I love to watch and study them; they're absolutely fascinating!

Continues where this conversation already went

  • I'd like to know more about the {Mages Guild}.

I will divulge whatever information I can!

    • What can I know about the {Mage's Guild}?

We exist for the pursuit of realmly knowledge and to provide magical service; that's the gist of it anyway. We have two branches, one in {Tonaki}, where I'm from, and another up in {Ezeki}. Feel free to stop and give it a look, maybe even apply. They're always looking for intelligent new recruits.

      Returns to an earlier point

    • Tell me more about {Tonaki}.

It's the greatest port in all of {Aruden} - a BIG city split by a great river; in terms of geography and wealth.

The {Sand Elve's} side of the river is always the side that offered more opportunity.

      Returns to an earlier point

    • I had other questions.

      Sure!

      The conversation ends

Only when the conversation's own flag metOutside is set

  • Good luck, {Ms. Gama}.

    See ya' later!

    The conversation ends

Only when the player has found

  • I have to get going.

    Bye!

    The conversation ends
