Openers (3)

The game picks one. They are alternatives, in the order it prefers them.

Only while Where the Wind Blows is succeeded

It's a great thing you did for our village, stranger.

Never been good at saying thanks, but hariyata. Truly.

The conversation ends

Huh? What is it? Can't you see I have my hands full here?

Only when the player stands LessThan Neutral with the speaker

Go away. I'm too busy for troublemakers.

What the player can raise (6)

The game offers every topic whose requirement is met, in the order it prefers them.

Only while the quest holds the authored value

  • Do you think the missing wizards were taken by something in the forest?

Why do you think I'm working on these palisades? For fun?

Whatever's in that forest, it's caused us enough trouble already. It's about time we did something about it, that's what I think.

    The conversation ends

  • What are you working on?

What does it look like? Building palisades. There's some bad crops growing outside of Ishgana, if you catch my drift. Walls will keep 'em out. Simple.

    Only the first time

    • It's a dangerous world outside. It's always a good idea to keep your guard up.

Didn't ask for your reassurance, outsider.

      The conversation ends

    • Bad crops?

Bad people. Some of ours went missing. We have our suspicions. *He eyes you warily.* There's a reason outsiders shouldn't be trusted. What are you asking all these questions for, anyway?

      Returns to the previous choices

    • Are you building these palisades all on your own?

No, I get help. But I'm the one man in Ishgana who has the most time to spare, as my crops don't need much tending.

Everyone else either has more important work to do - hah, as if - or a nagging wife to hold them back.

      Returns to the previous choices

    The conversation ends

  • You mentioned 'bad crops'?

The conversation forks on the quest-state check:

    If false

Bad people. Some of ours went missing. We have our suspicions. *He eyes you warily.* There's a reason outsiders shouldn't be trusted. What are you asking all these questions for, anyway?

    The conversation ends

    If true

Was talking about them cultists you dealt with - but who's to say what other menace is lurking round the corner?

    The conversation ends

  • Tell me again about the bad people you mentioned.

The conversation forks on the quest-state check:

    If false

    Still with the questions, huh?

Bad people from outside Ishgana. Some of ours went missing. We have our suspicions. *He eyes you warily.* There's a reason outsiders shouldn't be trusted.

    The conversation ends

    If true

Was talking about them cultists you dealt with - but who's to say what other menace is lurking round the corner?

    The conversation ends

  • Who are you?

    Name's {[npc]}. I tend to the crops.

    Only the first time

    • Doesn't look like you're tending the crops to me.

The conversation forks on the graph-variable check:

      If False

Trying to be clever, eh? I tend the crops when they need tending. Now these palisades need it more. Even a rootless wanderer like you should know crops don't need babysitting all day?

      • Must be growing season right now, then. No need to be in the fields unless it's planting or harvesting season.

Smarter than you look, eh? Don't meet rootless travelers who know about the seasons very often. Yes, I sow when I sow and reap when I reap. In between, the ganura does all the growing on its own.

Leaves me plenty of time to help out with things that don't grow on their own. Like these damn palisades.

        • Changes how the speaker feels about the player

        The conversation ends

      • Isn't it dangerous to neglect the crops? You need food to survive, after all.

You dense or what? I already told you I tend to the crops when they need tending. I sow when it's planting season and reap when it's harvesting season. In between, they grow on their own.

Ganura is a simple plant. I don't need to go out to the fields and whisper love poems in its ear, or whatever the sand elves do with their fancy flowers.

        The conversation ends

      • What are the defenses for?

What do you think? Protecting our town. Spirits, you outsiders are getting denser by the day. Never seen a wall before? A garden fence, maybe? It's like that, but bigger. Gonna keep idiots like you out when it's done.

        The conversation ends

      If True

I already told ya, I'm building up the defenses. I tend the crops when they need tending, and help out with other work when they don't. Simple, eh?

Continues where this conversation already went

    • You're a farmer? Can you tell me anything about local plants?

*He shakes his head.* Talk to alchemist Kazuki if you want to know about wild plants. I only grow ganura.

      Returns to the previous choices

    The conversation ends

  • What can you tell me about Ishgana?

It's a village. You want to know more? Look around instead of bothering me.

    The conversation ends

  • See you around.

The graph connects this choice to nothing, so the conversation stops here.
