Journal text

On success
The creature has been removed from the path.

Phases

1. Phase 1: Talk to Villagers

Journal entry

A bizarre and massive creature blocks my path out of this coastal valley.

Completed journal entry

Iago, an old man from the village, has sent me to find an alchemist in the forest. He believes the beast can be moved - but it must be done carefully, without angering it or damaging the food stores beneath the pass.

Objectives

1. Objective 1: Ask the villagers what can be done about the creature blocking the pass
2. Phase 2: SpeakToPotionMan

Objectives

1. Objective 1: Speak to the hermit in the coral forest
2. Objective 2: Go to the Coral Forest
3. Objective 3: Go and see the strange creature stuck in the pass

Hidden objective

4. Objective 4: Find a way to remove the creature from the pass
3. Phase 3: FindIngredientsAndReturn

Journal entry

I have been given an incomplete mixture by the hermit. He has told me to find an active ingredient around the forest. One option is the Mysterious Flower, found underwater. Its effects are unknown, hence the name. Another option is the Blossom of Serenity, found in higher areas. It will supposedly resolve this issue in a peaceful manner. The final ingredient I could use is the Vine of Chaos, found in corrupted lands. Judging by the name, this ingredient will surely be exciting.

Objectives

1. Objective 1: Find the 'Mysterious Flower'

Journal: Yogek, the old hermit alchemist, gave me a solution to dissolve an ingredient for a simple potion. If I use it properly, it should help me free the Creature from the pass.

3. Objective 3: Return to the Creature

Hidden objective

4. Objective 4: Find an active ingredient
5. Objective 5: Find the 'Vine of Chaos'

Giant Ogobi

• Greeting *The beast seems to have gotten itself wedged in the cave entrance. Its breathing is slow and heavy, like it’s been struggling for a while.*

Makeshift chief

• Greeting Why are you still here? Leave, the path is open.
• Greeting I thank you for your help. Our village will once again be able to recieve supplies and trade.
• Greeting I told you not to interfere and look whats happened!
• Greeting I saw the creature wriggling about, much smaller in stature.
• Greeting I know not what manner of creature you are, or what brought you to Bisawa - but you are not welcome here.
• Greeting I know not what brought you to Bisawa, Nayyar - but you are not welcome here.
• Greeting I know not what brought you to Bisawa - but you are not welcome here.
• Greeting Seek out Yogek, the hermit of the Sinang Hallow. If anyone has some sort solution to this, it will be him.
• Topic I wanted to ask some questions about Yogek.
• Topic I wanted to ask about the creature.
• Topic As I have resolved your trade route, perhaps some gold for a weary traveler?
• Topic Now that I've saved your city, I believe payment is necessary.

Trader

• Greeting A dwarf, here of all places. You’ve come far… too far. Bisawa has little welcome to spare.
• Greeting I wish you well in moving the creature from the pass. It has kept me from Akaga for many, many moons.
• Greeting An outsider? Does Iago know a Viasha walks among our village?
• Greeting Ugly work… A mess we’ll spend weeks clearing. Trade waits on that. You’ve dishonored us, not helped.
• Greeting Oh. Yes?
• Greeting I saw the creature soar from the pass… what a sight.
• Greeting Don’t tell me the food store’s roof has fallen!
• Greeting Grand… the pass is open again, sure enough. But at the cost of our food. How incredibly reckless. You’ve left Bisawa exposed, and I can’t forgive it.
• Greeting You shrank it? I must say it's rather cute.
• Topic Goodbye.

Hermit

• Greeting What’s this? A dwarf of all things, come to the camp of the alchemist, Yogek? In Sinang Hallow? Unthinkable! No, no - laughable! Aha! But here you stand…
• Greeting You’ve found me again, yes, yes. The forest enjoys our chatter.
• Greeting What’s this? A stranger comes to the camp of the alchemist, Yogek? In Sinang Hollow? Unthinkable! No, no - laughable! Aha! But here you stand…
• Greeting Ahh, still empty-handed? Then my wisdom has run dry for you - for now. Unless… no, no, unless there’s more you need?
• Greeting Ingredients at last! Delightful. But they won’t brew themselves - best you get to it.
• Greeting The pass is open? Hah! Then the trade flows again - roots, reagents, resins, all mine to pluck. Ohh, my shelves will sing once more!
• Greeting You drove the beast wild! Bisawa is gone, gone! Oh, foolish stranger, my methods may have spared them!
• Greeting Oh! A guest - no, sorry, no - you'll have to excuse me, I - I’m on the edge of something, yes, something splendid! No time, no time…
• Greeting Ohh, I’d talk more, truly! But the coral whispered a formula, and I’ve got to write before it fades.
• Topic I have some questions about the ingredients I need to find.

Coral Spirits Guy

• Greeting Merciful depths! What have you done?! The creature - it's everywhere! Flesh and shell and sacred humours, scattered to the tides!
• Greeting You mean to loose the Creature, do you? Expecting praise for it, perhaps.
• Greeting It is done. The Creature has returned to the depths, to its sacred realm beneath the waves. The reef-spirits are appeased, their joy rising like the tide.!
• Greeting Something stirred in the food store - a sound like timber crying out.
• Greeting You’ve brought down our food stores!
• Greeting Go. I’ve no words for one who would reduce such sacred majesty to a trinket. You have made a mockery of this great beast - a mockery!

Widow

• Greeting No… no! You’ve spilled its blood! The sea-spirits will never forgive this.
• Greeting Did you see it… flying home? The sea-spirits must be smiling upon us this day.
• Greeting You’ve cleared the path without wounding it. Yet look at it now… so small. The sea would crush it - yes, crush the poor thing.
• Greeting My husband never returned from the sea, yet still I give offerings. The spirits give and take as they will. If you mean to remove the Beast, do so kindly - coax it back to the waves, don’t wound it.
• Greeting I heard a crack like thunder from the food store.
• Greeting You brought the ceiling down and took our stores with it. You’ll not be forgiven - not here, where every grain is counted.

Sea Monster Guy

• Greeting *The fisherman looks around at the bits of flesh.* This is what outsiders bring - noise, ruin, and no thought for those who must live with the aftermath.
• Greeting It’s gone, and the food store yet holds. I’ll not say it lightly, but you’ve done Bisawa a good turn, [player].
• Greeting That crash came from the food store! If the roof’s gone, we’re finished - do you hear me? Finished!
• Greeting The Creature’s carcass and the rubble block the store! Do you even grasp what you’ve done? That roof, that food - it was mine to guard!
• Greeting Most here are uneasy with what you’ve done, making the Creature small.
• Greeting Why Iago allows outsiders run amok in Bisawa, I’ll never understand. Were it my call, you’d be left to the judgement of the whirlpools or the hollow.
• Topic (Lie) There's an emergency! Iago sent me to get the key to the food store!
